Consultation for Personal Trainer standards.
We would like bring to your attention a very important project for the European fitness sector and would very much appreciate the contribution of your outstanding expertise in sport and exercise science to this project.
The Professional Standards Committee of Europe Active (formerly known as European Health & Fitness Association) main activity is focused on the development of the standards to define the competencies required for people working in the fitness industry. It is part of the process of developing a sector framework, which in turn is based on the eight levels of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). Over the past years the Professional Standards Committee (formerly known as Standards Council) has delivered a remarkable standards output for all vocational levels (2-5), as well as for the first academic level (EQF – level 6). In continuing this work, a pan-European expert group has now developed a first draft of the updated standards for the Personal Training.
We recently commenced the external consultation process as the next step towards the finalisation of these new standards. The more experts involved, the better. Therefore, we need your support.
The draft standards document, open for external consultation, can be found by clicking here. The extended deadline to receive your comments is the 15th of January 2018. To provide these comments please either complete and send us the official comments form or simply send them to:
Many thanks for your support in advance. We strongly believe that with your expertise and experience this project can bring great benefit in adding to the employability of exercise professionals and the credibility of the fitness sector. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
